Scholarship at University Eligibility
New UK undergraduate students who begin a degree course in 2012 is also eligible for thought for a Scholarship at University if they're predicted to attain (or have already achieved) a minimum of grades AAB at A level or equivalent and have a residual income of £15,000 or less per year (as assessed by Student Finance England or equivalent).
Additionally, students should meet a minimum of one amongst the subsequent criteria:
- Live in a vicinity that is among the ten most deprived within the UK (based on info concerning the postcode where you live). Check your postcode on our search system
- Receive (or be eligible for) Free college Meals
- Attend {a college|a faculty|a school} or college where the typical points score attainment per student is below 550 (2010 school performance information provided by the Qualification and Curriculum Authority, quoted by the Department of Education)

Scholarship at University Application method and deadline
Students should apply separately for a Scholarship at University. The Scholarship at University appliance method is split into the subsequent stages:
- Stage one Scholarship at University Application: to assess eligibility, and to progress to Stage a pair of application. The limit for submission of Stage one applications is 7th May, 2012. - Stage a pair of Scholarship at University Application: students who are successful at Stage one are invited to complete the second stage of the appliance. this may embrace a private statement by the scholar, supported by a teacher/tutor reference. Other awards
Students who are unsuccessful in their application for a Promise Scholarship/Scholarship at University will automatically be considered for a Newcastle University Access Scholarship or a Newcastle University National Scholarship. However, no student will receive more than one of these awards.
Promise Scholarships/Scholarship at University are in addition to any government grants which students may receive, and which do not have to be repaid.
